Today, November 21, 2023, Rusta AB (publ) is introducing a new electric truck as a step towards its long-term vision to become the most sustainable player in the variety hard discount market. The truck is 100 percent electric and will enable daily emission-free transports between Rusta's central warehouse in Norrköping, Sweden, to the Rusta stores in Stockholm and Mälardalen.
Rusta's long-term vision is to be the most sustainable player in the the variety hard discount market. By 2045, Rusta aims to reach climate neutrality in the entire value chain, and the work to reduce the climate impact is ongoing in all parts of the business. The investment in an electric truck that enables emission-free transports between the central warehouse and stores in Stockholm and Mälardalen is an important milestone.

Rusta has worked strategically to achieve a more sustainable logistics chain for a long time. The fulfillment centre in Norrköping, Sweden, was inaugurated in 2015, and it is one of the largest distribution centers in the Nordics. The strategic location of the fulfillment centre contributes to reducing the number of transports between the warehouse and stores. The new electric truck, model Volvo FH 6×2 Electric, will lead to a CO2 reduction of approx. 116,000 kg per year when fully operational. The 24 meters long truck with a weight of 64 tons, which will be in use from Tuesday, is one of Sweden's largest electric trucks of its kind. The investment is made in collaboration with Alltransport i Östergötland AB.
